ACWA JPIA is an award-winning risk pool for water agencies, and we are excited to announce two openings for the position of Senior Risk Control Advisor / Safety Professional. One advisor in the Central Valley of California(supporting members in Fresno, Tulare, Kings, Madera, and Merced counties), and the other advisor in Southern California(supporting members in Los Angeles, Kern, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties). The advisors will be joining the Risk Management team. The candidates will work under the direction of the Risk Control Manager and will join a dynamic team of eight other employees. These positions are open due to a recent retirement on the team and a new position added in January.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and relationship-driven professional who builds trust and collaborates with member agencies. The candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing them to effectively convey complex risk management concepts, deliver engaging training, and continuously provide clear, practical guidance.
These positions are fully remote; however, up to 50% or more of the time is spent in the field where they conduct general on-site risk management inspections to assess conditions affecting safety, risk control, loss prevention with emphasis on significant loss areas and advise corrective actions, along with training on operations topics and safety issues. Overnight stays will be required.
The salary range for the positions are as follows: $107,459 – $161,190 for the central California Senior Advisor and $115,723 – $173,584 for southern California Senior Advisor. To determine approximate total compensation, add an additional 38% to the salary. This more accurately represents the total benefits received as an employee.
Submit the JPIA Application, along with cover letter and resume to hr@acwajpia.com with the position you are applying for (Central or Southern) by March 9, 2025. This recruitment can end at any time without prior notice. You will only be contacted if chosen for an interview. If chosen, the candidate will be required to complete basic, job-related testing and sit for an interview which is currently set to take place on March 17, 2025 for Southern California and April 3, 2025, for Central California. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon the candidate completing a background check and pre-employment physical.
